Course Description. There are many point of care ultrasound protocols for use in various clinical settings. Examples include the RUSH Protocol for shock, BLUE Protocol for dyspnea and the eFAST Protocol for trauma. The SALVATION protocol looks at bedside ultrasound evaluation of hypotension & hypoxia. There are 2 videos in this module, along with a link to the original publication describing the protocol in detail. The Salvation Protocol stands for Simplified Algorithm for the Evaluation of Perioperative Hypoxia and Hypotension. The article was published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Anaesthesia in 2021, by Fatima et al.
