Here’s another clinical case.
A 55 year old man is seen in the anaesthesia pre op evaluation clinic. He is noted to have a systolic murmur. History and examination are otherwise unremarkable.
What is the likely diagnosis ?
The echocardiograms are of the parasternal long axis and parasternal short axis views. The aortic valve is seen to be calcified. Its leaflets are thickened and do not open well. This is aortic stenosis. Quantification of the degree of stenosis requires a comprehensive echocardiogram
